- Jim Charkins, Ph.D. is professor of economics at CSU, San Bernardino and Executive Director of the California Council on Economic Education. He has written materials and developed programs for kindergarten through twelfth grade teachers to help implement the economics strand of the California History/Social Science Standards. He has worked with the California Department of Education to help develop the economics strand of the Standards and recently served on the committee that made recommendations to the Board of Education concerning revision of the HSSC Framework.
